Newsletter 10 - 24/6/2005
Summer Term Newsletter 10
24th June 2005
Open Day
We would like you to pick your children up at 1.30 p.m. on Thursday 7th July so that they can show you their work and the work that the other classes have done. Teachers will therefore be free to talk to parents.
School Production
The school production will take place on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th July.
Details regarding times and ticket allocation will follow shortly.
Suncream
We have asked our infants to refrain from bringing suncream into school as the children are finding the application of the cream difficult. It would be helpful if suncream could be applied prior to coming to school. Thank you for your help with this.
Parents Meeting the Teachers Evening
As a reminder, parents can meet their child’s teacher for next year on the following days:
Monday 11th July – Children moving to Years 1 & 2 – please meet in Classes 1S & 2C.
Tuesday 12th July – Children moving into Years 3 & 4 – please meet in Classes 3D & 4D.
Friday 15th July – Children moving into Years 5 & 6 – please meet in Classes 5M & 6B.
There will be a video session in the hall for school aged children from 3.30 p.m. on the dates reserved for you. Younger siblings may also watch the video under the supervision of their older brother or sister.
Help Needed!
Just a reminder Mr & Mrs Boulnois would appreciate help (and a spade!) with planting outside the Year 5 area tomorrow, Saturday, any time from 9.30 a.m. until 3.00 p.m.
Is anyone able to water our new plants in the Year 5/6 area at the beginning and end of the day? If you arrive early to drop off your child and pick up, could you spend a few minutes watering the plants? Hose and water will be provided!
Has anyone got the skills to monitor and update our school website? If so, please call in at the School Office.
Parking
It has been brought to our attention, that cars are being parked on the double yellow lines along the road leading into Carrington Lane car park, which causes an obstruction. We have contacted the Police and Guildford Borough Council on this matter. Unfortunately as this is not a public highway the Police do not have the power to enforce this restriction. In light of this could parents please refrain from parking on the yellow lines. We appreciate your co-operation in this matter.
Netball
Well done to the players who took part in the Year 6 Australian Netball Tournament. Special congratulations to the boys’ teams who managed to produce quality opposition after only two practice sessions.
The eventual winners of the tournament were the Melbourne Sharks.
Thank you to the Year 6 spectators who gave continual encouragement to all the teams and for organising the refreshments. Thank you also to Mrs Sherry, Miss Murphy and Mrs Boulnois for their support.
Mrs Underwood
It was great fun and everyone tried their best. Netball is definitely better than I expected.
Freddy Bragg – 6B
The netball was enjoyable to watch. It was funny to see some of the boys wearing skirts (their choice!).
Zara Proud -6B
It was fun watching your favourite teams and hearing the results. You could see that there was good sportsmanship.
Katy Botterill – 6M
It was great to see that the boys looked as if they actually enjoyed playing. It was fun to play against your classmates.
